Paul Pearson, age 67 of St. Peter, died on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Charles Christensen officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 7:00 pm on Wednesday at St. Peter Funeral Home with a sharing of memories at 6:30 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Thursday.
Paul was born on February 12, 1946 in Hutchinson, KS to Rev. Walter and Dagny (Lillquist) Pearson. In 1964, he graduated from St. Peter High School and went on to Luther College in Decorah IA, graduating in 1968. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era stationed in Germany. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. Paul worked for over 20 years at the MN Security Hospital in St. Peter. He was a member of the St. Peter Redmen Club and spent afternoons playing cribbage there. He played tennis and golf and enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife: Kathy; step son: Derek Schreyer; sister-in-law Sister Roberta (Carol) Werner; sister: Ruth Nelson (Richard); nephew: Mark Nelson (Vicki); and nieces: Betsy Nelson and Katie Tessmer (Shawn) and their daughter Emily.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1997 and mother in 2006.
