Muriel Turrittin, age 93 of St. Peter, died on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the River's Edge Hospital in St. Peter.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church in Kasota with Chris Conlin officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the start of the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Muriel was born on January 23, 1920 in McVille ND to John and Alette Quanbeck. She graduated from Roseau High School and then received her Bachelor Degree from Augsburg College. Later, she earned her Masters Degree from Mankato State. She was united in marriage to Charles Turrittin at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They made their home on the family farm in rural St. Peter. Muriel was the librarian at St. Peter High School from 1960 until retiring in 1989. She enjoyed books and reading and had a great love for her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Charles (Barbara), John (Sally) and Elizabeth (Tom) Lien; grandchildren: Cole, Laura, Jeff, Tim, Nathan and Megan; seven great-grandchildren; a brother: Dr. Phillip (Dora) Quanbeck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas; husband Charles in 1978; and grandson Jesse in 1997; and four brothers.
