Alvina Forsythe

Mrs. Alvina Bertina Gullickson Forsythe, 92, of Lake Wylie SC and formerly of St. Peter, passed away Wednesday, November 30th, 2022 at home.

Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 12, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, St. Peter with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at a later time in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Deer River, MN. www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. Forsythe was born May 21st, 1930 in Deer River, MN to the late Henry Gilbert Gullickson and Jessie Frances Shannon. Vinnie married Warren G. Forsythe on January 28th, 1951 in Deer River, MN. The family moved to St. Peter, MN in 1957. Vinnie moved to Lake Wylie, SC in September 2020. 

Vinnie devoted her life to family, including providing home and quality of life for a Down Syndrome son, and being an active church member. She competed in women's softball and bowling leagues that she joined in her 40s! 

Survivors are her son Gerald D. Forsythe (Carol); brother Richard Gullickson, Deer River, MN; grandchildren Jennifer Carol Forsythe (Tim Mcabee), Jonathan Forsythe (Amy), and Andrew Forsythe (Lauren); and great grandchildren Tristan Forsythe, Samuel McAbee, Allissa Forsythe, Lily Forsythe, Owen Forsythe, Emma Forsythe, and Logan Forsythe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Gail Forsythe, a son Dennis Scott Forsythe and siblings Melvin, Vernon and Irvin Gullickson.
