Andrea Aspelund

Andrea “Aunnie” Nicole Aspelund, age 30, died unexpectedly March 27, 2022 at her home in North Mankato.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Peter Funeral Home, 906 N. Washington Ave., in St. Peter with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Livestreaming will be available at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.

 Andrea was born June 6, 1991 to Alan Aspelund and Sherry (Grund) Rapking in Madelia, Minnesota. She grew up in St. Peter, Minnesota graduating from St. Peter High School in 2009. Andrea attended Rochester Technical College, studying to be a veterinary assistant. Andrea loved working with animals, volunteering and then working at BENCHS. She especially loved her only child, a rescue dog, Lady, who was her pride and joy. She worked in the food service and customer service industries. At the time of her passing, she worked for Sweet Alice Floral, a job that she loved and brought out her creative side.

Andrea enjoyed kayaking, walking her dog, gardening, knifty knitting, embroidery, adult coloring, baking and decorating cakes, and making lefse with family.

Andrea is survived by her dad, Alan (Denise) Aspelund; mom, Sherry (John) (Grund) Rapking; brother, Eric and his significant other, Megan; stepsiblings, Coralie, Tommy, Sarah, Christopher, Nathan, and Quinn; four step nieces and nephews, IzaBelle, Patton, Mylah, and Oswell; paternal grandmother, Florine Aspelund; maternal grandparents, Delvin and Eileen Grund; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Andrea was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Verdell Aspelund.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Tom and Shannon Bishop for their amazing friendship and love for Andrea and caring for Lady. Also, a thank you to the wonderful nurses and doctors from Davita Dialysis, Mankato Clinic, Mayo Clinic, and the U of M for their wonderful care.
