Annabel Lucille Cassett

Annabel Lucille Cassett, age 101, of St. Peter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter, with visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Savidge Lake Cemetery.

Annabel was born on December 4, 1923, in St. Peter to Cecile Isaac "Ike" and Cornelia Ann (Jackson) Davis. She graduated from St. Peter High School, and shortly after, she moved to San Francisco, California, where she worked in the shipyards during World War II as a historic "Rosie the Riveter." After the war, she returned to St. Peter, where she married Richard Cassett on June 13, 1948.

Annabel was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, St. Peter chapter, and an active member of Union Presbyterian Church. Above all, she cherished her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as an adopted grandma to many children she lovingly babysat throughout the years. Annabel was known for her warmth, her kindness, and her delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies that she loved to share.

She is survived by her daughters: Mary Lee (Richard) Lindstrom, Jean (Hugh) Welch, and Gwyn (Dewey) Ploog; grandchildren: Mark (Keta) Lindstrom, Julie (Kris Quandt) Lindstrom, Shawn (Dee) Welch, Holly (Shawn Olson) Welch, Paul (Courtney Anderson) Ploog, Molly (Shawn) Anderson, and Dan (Nicky) Ploog; great-grandchildren: Matthew Lindstrom, Alec (Gaby) Lindstrom, Megan Welch, Emma Welch, Mason Olson, Summit Olson, Nick (Josie) Ditschler Ploog, Ryan Ploog, Ben Ploog, Jada Anderson, Hannah Anderson, Conor Ploog, and Tanner Ploog. She also leaves behind honorary grandchildren Noah and Alex.

Annabel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, brothers: Curt Davis, Kenneth Davis, and Floyd “Bud” Davis, and sisters: Helen Menk, Leona Sach, Luella Stapel, Jane Moulton, and an infant sister.

Memorials are preferred to Ecumen Hospice, Benedictine Living, or Union Presbyterian Church.
