Betty J. Wenner, age 92 of St. Peter died Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at Ecumen Prairie Hill in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with burial at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be 4:00 – 6:00 Tuesday, December 6th and will continue one hour prior to the service Wednesday all at the church. Betty June Hoffman was born on June 18, 1930 in Mankato to Elmer W. and Mildred E. (Edwards) Hoffman. On July 20, 1953 she was united in marriage to Eugene Clement Wenner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. They made their home on the farm in St. Peter where Betty kept busy. Along with being a mother and homemaker, she co-owned NT&C Tour Company, and worked for Saints Bus Service and St. Peter High School, taught ceramics classes and sold ceramic items. She shared her many talents by volunteering with sewing classes at St. Peter High School and teaching others ceramics, crocheting and crafting. She also spent many hours volunteering with Benedictine Health Care, and the senior center. She was the Nicollet County Outstanding Volunteer for 2008, as well as the Minnesota State Outstanding Senior Volunteer. Betty loved crocheting and flowers, entering many of items in local fairs, and receiving several Grand Champion Ribbons. She loved spending time with family. She spent endless hours cheering on her children , grandchildren and great-grandchildren in sports. She was very proud to have made quilts for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to remember Betty are her children: Marlene (Craig) Tolzman, Keith (Helen), Kevin (Marcia), Brian (Deb), and Kim (Tim) Wilking; Grandchildren: Jill, Erin (Bo), Drew (Ashley), Jodi (Dave), Dan (Shelley), Ryan (Brenna), Jennifer (Brian), Jeff (Ruanatta), Molly (Nate), Riley, Joey, Seth, Sam, Chet (Sabrina) and Tori (Torrence); 35 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene (2016); and grandsons Jacob (1991) and Trae (1993) Wilking.
