Christine Ann Rogers

Christine Rogers, age 79 of St. Peter, passed away at home on Saturday, July 4, 2020.

Private family services will be held.

Christine Ann was born July 22, 1940 in Arcadia WI to Casimir “Coddie” and Bessie (Johnson) Jelen. She was raised in Pepin WI and graduated from Pepin High in 1958. She continued her education at the University of WI in River Falls, graduating with a Bachelors in Education and later receiving her Masters from Mankato State University. Christine was united in marriage to Michael D. Rogers on August 11, 1962 in Wabasha MN. She began her career teaching English in Burnsville in 1962. In 1970 they moved to St. Peter and in 1972 she began teaching Special Education and working with students who had learning or behavioral issues for Le Center Schools until retiring in 2000.

Christine and Mike enjoyed traveling; taking trips to Europe, Alaska, Hawaii and other places. In retirement they enjoyed taking a month break from MN winter in San Diego CA for several years, and later in Scottsdale AZ. She enjoyed spending time at the lake in Pepin WI; making use of the beach, fishing, and socializing with friends and family.

Left to remember Christine are her husband of 57 years, Mike; daughter, Kelly; grandchildren: Michael and Malia Christina; three nieces; a nephew; many cousins; and friends. She was preceded in death by daughter Katie in 2007.
