Cornelius “Corney” Hauser, age 83 of Lake Washington, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 at his home.
Funeral service will be 11:00am Friday, April 5, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 Thursday at St. Peter Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Friday at church. www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com
Cornelius was born March 5, 1936 on the family farm near Sleepy Eye to Frank and Angela (Breiganzer) Hauser. He attended elementary school in Sleepy Eye and graduated from Holy Trinity in New Ulm in 1954. Corney married Myrtle Guldon in 1957. They had 3 children and later divorced. He Married Kathleen Berg in 1972 and together they had a daughter. Through his life, he was a truck driver. First owning his own trucks and hauling grain and livestock, while later working for Kohls Trucking, MICO and Pepsi hauling freight. Corney was a member of a weekly card club at WOW! Zone and enjoyed playing cards, cutting wood, hunting, fishing, traveling, cruises and spending time with the grandchildren hunting and 4-wheeling.
Left to remember Corney are his wife, Kathy; children: Doreen (Rodney) Oachs, Sheri (Bob) Olson, Troy (Karen) and Kari (Jason) Loe; grandchildren: Travis, Jesse, Patrick, Tyler, Tanner, Kirsten and Caleb; eight great grandchildren; sister-in-law Irene Hauser; brothers-in-law: Ray and Al (Lisa) Berg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Leonard (Adelia), Nicholas (Rosie), Sylvester, Veronica Hoffman, Gertrude (Victor) Marti and Rita (Urban) Augustin; sisters-in-law: Louise and Marge Berg; and brother-in-law Roy Berg.
