Delphine Swan, age 87 of St. Peter, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Rivers Edge Hospital with her daughters by her side.

Delphine Elaine was born March 22, 1935 to Oliver and Vienna (Tuura) Grondahl on her maternal grandparents farm in Middle River, Marshall County, MN. She attended Newfolden High School, graduating in 1953. Shortly thereafter, she got engaged, then married Wendell John Swan on November 4th and moved with him to Orlando FL. They later moved back to Minnesota, finally settling in St. Peter. Delphine was employed at the St. Peter State Hospital in the laundry for several years before opening a home daycare. She loved the kids she took care of and still maintained contact with many. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and American Legion Auxiliary, and enjoyed reading, shopping, cooking and playing farmtown on Facebook. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Left to remember Delphine are her children: Nancy (Mark) Johnson and Nanette Swan; two grandchildren: Kari (Jesse) Fredrickson, and Codi (Dave) Dvorak; 10 great grandchildren: Erin (Calvin) Leisenheimer, Brandon (Kaylee) Reichel, Taylor Reichel, Jordan Reichel, Tanner Dvorak, Owen Dvorak, Morgan Dvorak, Theodore Francis, Tyson Francis, and Brooklynn Francis; one great-great grandson Jax Tischer; two sisters: Eleanor McMillan, and Sandra (Al) Underberg; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: daughter Wende Jo in 1970, husband Wendell in 1998, and brother Dale (Lorraine) Grondahl.
A burial service will be held in Newfolden, MN, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter, in early November.
