Donald “Don” Edward Krenik, age 87, of Cleveland, MN died on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Oak Terrace Assisted Living, Le Sueur, MN.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at The Church of the Nativity, Cleveland, MN with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Scotch Lake. Livestream of the service will be available at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com. St. Peter Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Donald Edward Krenik was born May 11, 1937, to Edward and Margaret (Groh) Krenik, Cleveland, MN. Don graduated from Cleveland High School in 1955. After graduation, Don fulfilled his military obligation and was a lifelong member of the American Legion Cleveland, MN.

On June 30, 1962, Don married his best friend and the love of his life, Patricia Sonnek, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Easton, MN. Together they had a beautiful life enjoying summer and winter fishing, golfing, traveling and their four-legged friends. Don will be remembered for his sense of humor and kindness.

Don was a lifelong farmer and retired from the MN Security Hospital after 27 years of service. Don’s faith was very important to him. He was a member of The Church of the Nativity in Cleveland, MN where he served as a Trustee for many years and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Don is survived by his wife, Pat; sister, Joretta Ehrhard; brothers-in-law, Russell (Ruth) Sonnek, and Terrance (Janice) Sonnek, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margaret Krenik; parents-in-law, Louis and Veronica Sonnek; siblings-in-law, Shirley (Keith) Fraze, Rita (Ron) Davids; former brother-in-law, Paul Ehrhard, and great-niece, Ashley Malevich.
