Donald Evan Kuhl, age 79, of St. Peter, took his last truck ride on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church of Kasota, with visitation one hour prior at the church as well. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Don was born to Grant and Opal (Childs) Kuhl on January 9, 1941 in Bellingham, Washington. He worked for several trucking companies before he started his own trucking company. He was a self-employed trucker from 1976-2010. He drove by himself until his wife joined him. They had 22 years driving team operation. Don had a total of 57 years driving. After retiring from over the road, he drove for Volk transfer, part time.
Don was united in marriage to Myra Jean Westphal on February 21, 1964 at First Presbyterian Church of Kasota, MN. Don and Jean lived most of their married life in Kasota.
He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, camping boating and playing cards.
Don is survived by his friend, and loving wife, Myra Jean of 56 years; three children, Deanna Kuhl, Donald Kuhl, Jennifer (special friend, Jim Murphy) Kuhl; five grandchildren, Jarod Schmidt, Joston Schmidt, Taylor Kuhl, Dylan Kuhl, and Kaeleigh Kuhl; two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Carter; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father in-law, Warren and Hazel Westphal; sister-in-law, Karen Rybus; brother-in-law, Hank Westphal.
Jean-I will be waiting on the other side of the moon.
