Duane L. Fredrickson

Duane L. Fredrickson, age 72 of Waseca and formerly of St. Peter, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health – Mankato.

Memorial visitation will be 5:00-7:00pm Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Peter Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30pm. Memorials may be directed to Mayo Clinic Health – Mankato Hospice.

Duane Linus was born May 13, 1946 in Mankato to George and Helen (Throngard) Fredrickson and is a 1964 graduate of St. Peter High School. Duane enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1966 and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1971. Duane worked construction and eventually ended his career working at the State Hospital in St. Peter. He was united in marriage to Kristy Ann Volk and they lived in St. Peter until her passing in 2016. He later moved to Waseca. Duane loved antiques, raising cattle, gardening and flowers. He was a member of Scandian Grover Lutheran Church and the St. Peter American Legion. Duane had great concern for the working poor and made donations to several families to help them with food and clothing.

Left to remember Duane are his brother, Dale (Susan), nephews: Josh (Kari) and Jake; niece Caia; Kristy’s son: Corey (Kelly) Krohn; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Kristy.
