Duane Raymond Peterson

Duane R. Peterson, age 78 of St. Peter, passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at home surrounded by family.

Funeral service will be 3:00pm Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery. Masks are required at the church. Condolences for the family can be left at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.

Duane was born June 25, 1943 in Anoka, MN to Erwin and Mamie (Gobel) Peterson. He is a 1961 graduate of St. Peter High School. On June 30, 1962 he was united in marriage to Arlene Strand. They made their home in St. Peter and he was employed at MICO in Mankato and later Unimin, retiring in 2007 after more than 20 years. Duane was a member of the Steel Workers Union and enjoyed yardwork, watching the Twins and walking his beloved dogs: Nikki, Annie, and Cloe. But most of all he cherished family and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He loved to joke, was witty, laid back and never complained. He was a great husband, father and grandpa.

Left to remember Duane are his wife, Arlene; children: Michael, Richard (Christine) and Jody (Shannon); grandchildren: Taylor, Mitchell, Jacob, Callan, Kira, Harry, Jack and Cam; sisters: Ruby (Archie) Archer and Linda Hoppe; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Leonard, Darrell and Bobby; sister Darlene and brother-in-law Gilbert Hoppe.
