Edith Mae Malloy

Edith Mae (Risk) Malloy, age 79, of Kasota, MN passed away peacefully on June 9, 2020 at the United Hospital in Blue Earth, MN. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Sunrise Church, St. Peter, MN with visitation one hour prior. Burial will take place in Kasota Hill Cemetery. Saint Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Edith was born to Merle Risk and Wilma (Emery) Risk on November 12, 1940 in rural Elmore Kossuth County, Iowa. She was baptized at the Elmore United Methodist Church. Edith graduated from Elmore High School in 1958. She went on to work in several cafes, until she started to work at Telex Communications in LeSueur, MN. Edith then worked at GTO, she retired from the St. Peter Regional Hospital. She married Jack Malloy on August 12, 1977. She loved spending time with her kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to take fishing trips with the family. Edith always had a funny story to tell, and loved to reminisce about family outings. Even if it was just a car ride to town in the convertible with the top down, and six kids in the backseat.

Edith is survived by her children, Melody (Bruce) Winter, of Hebron, KY, Kim (Kevin) Poole, of Winnebago, MN, Ray (Una) Risk, of Gaylord, MN; son, Jack Malloy, of Kasota, MN; son-in-law, Marv Anderson, of St. Peter, MN; step-daughter, Eilene (Dean) Ballman, of Cleveland, MN; 7 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; parents; daughter, Kandy; step-daughter, Molly; step-son, Mike; grandchildren, Beth and Adam; brothers, Jerry, Duane, and Ralph.
