Edward “Jr.” Anthony Walter, age 89 of St. Peter passed away on December 7, 2021 at River’s Edge Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the St. Peter Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior at the church as well. Jr. was a member of the American Legion and served in the Army. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Men’s Choir, and always enjoyed the Polka Mass. Jr. had many jobs in his lifetime. Most of them involved being either behind the wheel or underneath a vehicle. He drove school bus for 30 years and also drove the transit bus. He ran a gas station for many years and worked at several gas stations as a mechanic. Jr. farmed and inspected eggs, grated roads, read meters and most of all was a devoted husband and father.
Jr. is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna; children, Benton (Ellen) Walter, Tony Walter, Barbara (James) Holdeman, Rebecca Crane; stepchildren, Bret Smith, Bart (Patricia) Smith, Patrice (Clint) Drayfahl, Douglas (Beth) Smith; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Langmo; brother, Richard (Margaret) Walter, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Pamela Johnson, and Patricia Ledford; sibling, Terry Walter.
