Elizabeth "Betty" Josephine Koch

Elizabeth Josephine Koch, age 94, of St. Peter passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Private funeral service will be held at the Church of St. Peter, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery. Elizabeth Josephine Koch was born to Ambrose and Margaret Germscheid McCabe on March 9, 1926. She had four older siblings and four younger siblings. One sister, Margaret Lind of California, is still living.

Elizabeth, also known as Betty Jo or just “Betty,” grew up in Le Center where she met and married Edward Koch. They lived briefly in Marshall and the rest of their years in St. Peter. Edward and Betty had four sons, Dennis (Sharon), Greg (Pat), Gary, and Daniel; one daughter, Cheryl (Jeff) Peters, and 13 grandchildren. Edward was killed in an automobile accident in 1973.

Betty worked for a few years at Green Giant in Le Sueur, but otherwise was a stay-at-home mom. She never learned to drive, but did all her shopping and errands by bicycle, bus, and walking. She was a faithful member of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Betty spent her last two years at Benedictine of St. Peter. She went home to her parents and husband on November 11, 2020, at the age of 94. Rest in peace Mother.
