Emil Jacobson, 95 of St. Peter MN, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the Church of St. Peter, St. Peter with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Madelia. To leave a condolence or view the livestream, visit his obituary at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.
Emil Leroy was born February 2, 1927 in Tipler, Wisconsin to Clifford C. and Estella (Trowbridge) Jacobson. He attended country school and graduated from Madelia High School in 1944. He enlisted in the US Navy and after being honorably discharged, he attended Marquette University. Emil began employment in 1949 as a security guard at the St. Peter State Hospital and retired in 1982 as a supervisor. He was an active member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter and the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the St. James Eagles Club, the Red Men Club in St. Peter, and a lifetime member of the American Legion where he served on the honor guard. Emil enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards and dice at the Red Men, golf and traveling. Most importantly, he treasured his family and gatherings with them.
Left to remember Emil are his sister, Marjorie Reinke and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Marilyn Haes and Catherine Johnson; brothers-in-law: Jay Haes, Melvin Johnson, Ray Marshall and Merlin Reinke; niece Catherine Carter; and nephews: John and Mike Meistrell.
