Gail Renae Westphal

Gail Renae Westphal, age 69, of St. Peter, died March 26, 2022 at her home in St. Peter

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at St. Peter Funeral Home with a Devotion at 7:00 p.m.

Gail was born on February 18, 1951 in St. Peter, MN to Lloyd and Joycelyn (Becker) Westphal.  At the time the family lived in Oshawa Township in Nicollet County, MN.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter.  Gail graduated from Nicollet High School in 1971, the same year her family moved to St. Peter.  She attended nursing school as well as worked at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.  She later attended Mankato State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing.  She was a nursing instructor at Mankato State University, South Central College, and Rasmussen College where she retired in March 2020. 

Gail is survived by two brothers, Gary (Debra) Westphal and Ronald Westphal; nieces and nephews, Joshua (Rebecca) Westphal, Jeremy (Lindsey) Westphal, Katherine (Joseph) Shanahan, Justin Westphal, Caleb Westphal, and Abbigael Westphal.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judith Barn; and sister-in-law, Tanya Westphal.
