Harold “Ossie” Engesser, age 90 of St. Peter, went home to heaven on Monday, November 18, 2019 in St. Peter.
Memorial service is 11:00 am Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Peter with visitation one hour prior. Condolences can be left at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com
Harold George was born November 16, 1929 in Lennox, California to Harold Benjamin and Grace Myrtle (Swenson) Engesser. He graduated from St. Peter High School. He was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Habinger on November 24, 1950 in St. Peter. They made their home in Mankato, and Harold worked at the Mankato Free Press for many years until 1991, when he moved to Sedona AZ and owned and operated Engesser’s Native American Arts for 23 years. In 2009, they returned to St. Peter. Harold loved being with his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed woodworking including making furniture and instruments, and also had a love for music and the arts.
Left to remember Harold are his daughters: JoBe Thilgen, Dawn (John) Cannoles and Amber (Michael) Spiess; grandchildren: Justin Johnson, Cassidy Spiess, and Cody (Ingrid) Spiess; great grandsons Jari and Otto Spiess; sisters: Diane Braun and Vonnie Olsen; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, son-in-law Jim Thilgen, and brothers-in-law Richard Braun and Robert Olsen.
