Herbert A. Pagel

Herbert Arthur Pagel, 86, of St. Peter, Minnesota, left us here on Earth, Saturday, November 6 and joined his wife, Mabel Vernette Pagel in the arms of our Lord. Herb was born in St. Peter on August 7, 1935 to Arthur and Effie Pagel. Herb served and retired from the United States Air Force in 1957 and then went on to serve and retire from the U.S. Army as well. Herb married Mabel in 1974 in Cleveland, Minnesota but resided between St. Peter, Minnesota, Havre, Montana, Dothan, Alabama, and Williamson, Georgia for many years. Herb was a carpenter by trade who could work on and fix anything. In his younger days, he was employed by NorthStar Concrete in St. Peter, building local streets, driveways, sidewalks, etc. He continued that trade while in Havre, MT working for Baltrusch Construction and the City of Havre. Herb was a family man. He enjoyed spending time with all his family and friends wherever they may have been. He traveled all over the country to stay in close contact with everyone. Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Effie McDonald Pagel; his wife, Mabel; Sister, Ida Quinn; step-daughter, Penny Kay Keough; Brothers-in-law Robert Quinn, Dick Anderson, and Oliver Compart. Herb leaves behind two sisters Mary Compart and Lily Anderson both of St. Peter, Minnesota; Grandchildren, Trina (Ronnie) Mullis of Griffin, Georgia, Jarret Watson of Havre, Montana, Shelby (Matt) Kasper of Great Falls, Montana; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00-2:00 pm on Monday, November 15, 2021 at St. Peter Funeral Home. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Peter immediately following visitation. The family invites all friends and relatives to join them for a light luncheon at The American Legion Post #37 in Saint Peter, Minnesota following graveside services until 5:30 pm.
