James Callahan Neitge, 68, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at his home in St. Peter, Minnesota.
Jim was born April 30, 1950, in Mankato, Minnesota, to Harriet Foley Neitge and Benjamin Donald Neitge. He grew up in North Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School in 1969. Jim had a lifelong passion for sports and was on the high school baseball, swimming and football teams. He also played football at Mankato State College.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and went on to work in construction for many years. He enjoyed fishing and spending his free time outdoors. Jim loved classic rock, Nut Goody bars, his family, and his loyal dog, Sitka, who was by his side for many years.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Jaime Neitge, her partner, Nicolas Karlinski, and their daughter, Stella, of Paris, France; son, Mitchell Neitge and his wife, Sharz, of Hartford, South Dakota; sister, Judie Neitge of North Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Thomas Neitge and Steven Neitge.
A private graveside service is planned at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Arrangements were completed by the St. Peter Funeral Home.
