Lee R. Hertling

Lee R. Hertling, age 70 of St. Peter, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at Ridgeview Health, Le Sueur.

Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at St. Peter Funeral Home followed by a service at 7:00pm. Private interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Renville. Condolences for the family can be left at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.

Leland Richard was born April 27, 1951 in Redwood Falls to Richard F. and Annabelle (Lange) Hertling. Lee was raised in Renville, and graduated from high School there. He began farming and met Cindy D. Mahlum, who he married in July 1973. They moved to Mankato in 1974 where he went to work for Hubbard Milling. He eventually moved to Farmland Industries, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. In retirement he and Cindy spent five winters in AZ before his health issues kept them in MN. Lee was very active in exhibiting poultry, was a 4H judge in MN and IA, loved flower gardening, camping, and making stained glass.

Left to remember Lee are his wife, Cindy; children: Matthew and Ryan (Laurene); grandchildren: Clay, Payden and Braylen; sister Kathy (Dave) Thompson; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
