Lonny A. Meyer

Lonny A. Meyer, age 78, of St. Peter, died Friday, August 18, 2023, at his home.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, St. Peter.  Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at St. Peter Funeral Home and will continue one hour before the service Wednesday at the church. Private Interment will be at a later date in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Lonny was born April 1, 1945, to Herbert W. and Mildred E. (Roemhildt) Meyer in St. Peter.  He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1963 and then attended Mankato Vo-Tech for his degree as an auto body technician.

Lonny served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Vietman, from February 1967- until honorably discharged in December 1968.

Lonny was united in marriage to LeAnn J. Rathai on December 6, 1969, at St. Peter Lutheran Church.  Lonny worked at Lager’s Chrysler in St. Peter, Chuck’s Body Shop in Eagle Lake and Mike’s Body Shop in St. Peter.  He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.  Lonny enjoyed snowmobiling, NASCAR, camping, being with people and making them smile, time with his family, and tea parties with his granddaughters.

Lonny is survived by his wife, LeAnn; three children, Todd (Kim) Meyer, Kristen (Scott) Reiten all of St. Peter, and Brandon (Bethany) Meyer of McKinney, TX; six grandchildren, Madeline (Alex) Borchardt, Carter, Cooper, and Mari Meyer, Hailey and McKenna Reiten; brother, Gary (Phyllis) Meyer of Cleveland, two sisters, Marlis (Doug) Scholljegerdes of Waseca and Wendy (Scott) Forsyth of LaCrosse, WI; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lonny was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Gerry; and sister, Carol (Bob) Luegge.
