Mary Rose Compart

Mary Compart, age 92, of St. Peter, died on July 17, 2023 at Benedictine Living Community, St. Peter.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 25 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at St. Peter Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Peter.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice or Nicollet County 4-H. 

Mary was born on April 8, 1931 in Lake Prairie Township, Nicollet County to Arthur and Effie (McDonald) Pagel.  On August 3, 1950, Mary was united in marriage to Oliver Compart.  They farmed in rural Nicollet for 46 ½ years before moving to St. Peter in 1998.  Mary was an active adult 4-H Leader for over 30 years and a hospice volunteer for over 31 years.  Mary served on various community boards throughout her life.  She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, reading, making jelly, gardening, and traveling.  Most of all, Mary loved spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Kathy (Larry) Zuehlke, Nancy Solberg, Marj Hagen, Steve Compart, Sue Compart, and Paul Compart; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lily Anderson.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oliver; daughter, Barb; son-in-law, Jeff; brother, Herb Pagel; sister, Ida Quinn; 4 brothers-in-law; and 2 sisters-in-law.
