Mary L. Durbahn, 94, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Tanglewood Trace in Mishawaka. She was born June 16, 1926 in Mankato, MN to the late Esther (Highberg) and Lorenzo Gault. On December 31, 1948 in St. Peter, MN, she married her loving husband, Merle Durbahn, who preceded her in death on September 6, 1997.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Dr. Camille (Chuck) Kureth of Granger, IN, Dr. Cindy Bowers of Crozet, VA, and Dr. Chris (Dr. Larry) Smart of Geneva, NY; son, Bill (Jean) Durbahn of Reno, NV; five grandchildren, Andy (Eliza) Kureth, Dr. Brittany (Andy) Hall, Eric (Mike Petrich) Bowers, Dr. Steven (Christine) Bowers, and Stephanie Smart; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary is preceded in death by her sister, Pernell Gault; and brothers, James Gault and Z. Samuel Gault.
Mary worked as a sales clerk for Macy's department store. She loved her animals, and enjoyed sewing, hand painting china dishes, and working on jigsaw puzzles. Mary was an outstanding cook and was happy to host the holidays in her home.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 24, 2021 in Fort Ridgely Cemetery in Fairfax, MN.
