Mary Lou (Maxfield) Ballman, age 91, of Cleveland passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2019 with family by her side. Funeral service is 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Church of the Nativity, Cleveland. Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the St. Peter Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Scotch Lake. Remembrances can be left at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to a charity of your choice.
Mary Lou was the 10th of 12 children born to Charles and Alice (Sullivan) Maxfield of Mankato on July 10, 1927. She lived her entire married life on a farm outside of Cleveland, and raised a family of 11 children. Mary Lou’s greatest love has always been family. For over 70 years Mary Lou was a magnet and super glue for her family by organizing or helping to organize numerous reunions. Family, doing what is right, a strong work ethic and doing our best are just a few of the examples of the legacy that both Mary Lou and Clem left behind.
Mary Lou is survived by her children, Rick (Muggs), Larry (Kathy), Brad (Cease), Greg, Jan (Mike) Campe, Steve, Mark (Barb), Randy (Laurel), Melissa Soltis, Paul (Carla); 32 grandchildren and 41 great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clem; son, Allan; grandson, Adam and great-grandson, Gaius.
