Michael "Mike" A. Giefer

Michael "Mike" Giefer, age 69 of St. Peter, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024 at home.

Public Visitation will be 12:00-1:00pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at St. Peter Funeral Home. Private family service will be held with a public Celebration of Life to continue from 3:00-6:00pm at the St. Peter American Legion.

Michael Alan was born April 2, 1955 in Minneapolis. His parents, Leonard A. and Kathryn (Burg) raised him in the Nicollet area, and he is a 1974 graduate of Nicollet High School. He worked in sales, first at Wise Furniture, and later owning Mike's Stuff, where he sold furniture and antiques. He was known to always be able to have or find anything someone needed. Mike was united in marriage to Sheila Hanson on July 31, 2004. In his earlier years he enjoyed bowling, camping, being outdoors, boating, water skiing, and tubing with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the casino and playing pull tabs. He was a "social butterfly" who enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and was known for his sense of humor.

Left to remember Mike are his wife, Sheila; children: Jeremy (Mei Peng), Justin (Kelly), Melissa (Andy) Reichel; step children: Jeremy (Karen) Blaschko, and Heather (John) Rheaume; grandchildren: Jordon, Casandra, Emily, Sierra, Johnathan, Anissa, Lyndzie, Coleton, Jacob, Johanna, Izabella, Cheng, Lee, Hailey, and Adrianna; nine great grandchildren; grand dog Honey; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Mary "Putz" Giefer.
