Lita was born on October 11, 1931 in San Jose, California to Guy and Nina Baugher. They had met and fell in love while Connie was working in California. Their marriage of 70 years began on February 28, 1950. They made St. Peter their home and began a family in 1952. They both worked at Johnson Overall Factory until it closed in 1977. Lita then went to work at Ace Hardware, where she was known as “the paint lady” until her retirement in 1992.

Lita enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, spending time with her grandchildren, playing bridge, and collecting rocking horses. She was known for her garlic bread and grilled chicken at the neighborhood picnics. She had a knack for being lucky and enjoyed spending her time and money at the nearby casinos.
