Ron Myers, 80, of St. Peter, MN, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Ron was born in Worthington. He grew up in Austin, the son of Harold and Helen (Roman) Myers, and graduated from Rose Creek High School in Austin. One of Ron's favorite jobs was serving as the supervisor at the ice rink in St. Peter, where he became well-known for his strict yet fair approach. Whether it was on the rink or at Neisen's, Ron could often be found enjoying a meal in his favorite chair, surrounded by friends.
In his younger years, Ron loved playing darts, softball, and bowling. He also cherished time spent with his fishing buddy, Pat Beck, and, of course, his favorite pastime: winning at Mystic Lake Casino. A longtime member of the St. Peter American Legion, Ron's presence will be missed by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his daughters: Krista (Todd Hein) McGraw of Belle Plaine, Heather Myers of Waupan, WI, and Shannon (James) Wagy of Mankato; his grandchildren: Maddi and Kady McGraw, Bailey, Brandon, and Hayden Kurth, Ashley Davis, and Liam Wagy; three great-granddaughters, and former wife Sheila Myers. He also leaves behind his special friend, Kay Theis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Myers.
