Rosemarie "Pat" Freiert, age 81 of St. Peter, passed away on Friday February 28, 2025 at Ecumen Prairie Hill, St. Peter.
Rosemarie Patricia Freiert was born in Baltimore, MD, the second child of Willis K. Freiert, a television executive, and Rosemary (McFarland) Freiert, on May 18, 1943. She graduated from Notre Dame Preparatory School, where she was awarded the coveted “White Blazer” for significant leadership in contributing to the school’s ideals. In 1961, she entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame, earning B.A. and M.A. degrees in Education and teaching elementary school in Pittsburg and Baltimore. After fifteen years, Pat left the convent to care for her widowed and ailing mother.
Upon her mother’s death, she moved to St. Peter, MN, to be near her brother’s family. Until her retirement, she worked at Scholarship America, where she was the first recipient of the Star Employee Award for Leadership and Service. Pat was beloved by all for her remarkable kindness and her uncanny ability to induce St. Anthony to find lost objects. In retirement, she delighted in driving elderly friends to appointments, on errands, and to church.
Pat is survived by her brother, William (Patricia Neaderhouser), her nephew, Michael (Kate Stellmach), her grand-niece Josephine Marie, and thirty cousins and their families.
