Shirley Strand

Shirley Strand, age 95 years and 30 days, passed away on January 6, 2023 surrounded by her children. She was born on December 6, 1927. She is survived by her children, Jerry, Clayton (Sheryl), Gloria Pettis, Pam (Jay Pudwill), and Brian (Kim); sister, Betty Rolhoff; brother, Donald Peterson; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff; special friend, Loren Erickson; sister, Barb Fischer; sister, Audrey Halverson; brother, Robert (Porky); mother and father, Leone ad Axel Peterson; and grandson, Mike Strand.

Shirley worked several jobs in her working career, but she especially enjoyed her 25 years at the Holiday House in St. Peter.

She was a life time member of VFW Auxiliary as well as the Redman Pocahontas. She enjoyed traveling, especially her trip to Europe.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sand Prairie, Prairie Hill and Ecumen Hospice Staff for their great care of their mother during her stay at both facilities.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the St. Peter Funeral Home, 906 N. Washington Avenue, St. Peter with visitation held for one hour prior to the service. Private family interment will be at Ottawa Cemetery, Ottawa Township.
