Wayne P. Lynn, 72, of St. Peter, Minnesota, passed away on April 16, 2022 surrounded by family at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Wayne was born to Wayne O. And Dona Lynn on March 27, 1950. He attended school in St. Peter, graduating in 1968. Wayne joined the U.S. Navy right out of high school and served four years. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, spending his last year of duty on the USS Hancock in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion. On October 10, 1970, he married Barbara (Juberien) at Barbers Point, Hawaii, and they made their home in O’ahu for the next year before his deployment. After moving to St. Peter, they had two children, Robbie and Amber, who were the greatest joys of their lives. After the Navy, Wayne worked at Geldner’s Construction, and later at the Minnesota Security Hospital as a Security Counselor for over 30 years, retiring in 2005. Wayne loved working on his 10 acre plot of land, planting trees and flowers to make it beautiful again after the 1998 tornado destroyed the house and grove. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and bought them many fun vehicles to cruise around the property. Wayne’s passion was buying and selling cars, taking vacations with Barb, and hanging out with friends and family in his “Wayne’s World” shop. He was loved by many as he could hold a conversation with anyone who was willing to chat. Wayne is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Barbara; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Matt Hohl, and granddaughters Seanna, Isla and Juniper Hohl; sisters Sharon Williams and Susan Hill. Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Robbie Lynn, parents Wayne “Bud” and Dona Lynn, and his father and mother-in-law Robert and Marce Juberien. A Celebration of Life will take place in July, with a burial and military honors at Fort Snelling in St. Paul.
