Hubert Emanuel Anderson

Hubert Emanuel Anderson loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away June 26, 2019 at the age of 98. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, July 1, 2019 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., as well as one hour prior on Monday at the church. Burial will take place in the Scandian Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Hubert was born on August 2, 1920 on the family farm in Norseland, MN.  He attended District 4 School, Saint Peter High School, Gustavus Adolphus College and the Minnesota Agricultural School. He was united in marriage to Frankie Kreykes on April 22, 1955 at Spring Garden Lutheran Church in Cannon Falls, MN. 

Hubert grew up with farming in his blood and continued the family 'Anderson Seeds' business.  He passed on the sowing of seeds onto his children and grandchildren.  His love for farming carried over into his passion for 4-H.  He showed pigs, beef, sheep, ducks and gave demonstrations. He attended the national 4-H convention and continued on as a leader. He enjoyed showing open class corn at the MN State Fair for many years.  He was a member of Scandian Grove Lutheran Church, taking an active role in the church council, cemetery board and churchmen.   

Hubert is preceded into death by his wife Frankie; son, Dean; parents; siblings, Evelyn (Art) Chell, Freedolph (Myrtle) Anderson and Luella (Soren) Swenson.

Survived by daughter, Pauline (Jay) Wieland; sons, Neal (Joni) Anderson, Peter (Karri) Anderson; grandchildren, Amanda (Paul) Bonham, Justin (Sarah) Anderson, Kelsey (Jeremy) Henke, Lexi (Yuriy) Malashenko, Elizabeth (Andrew) Kendall, Bethany Anderson, Sean Wieland, Jacob Anderson, and great-grandchild June Anderson, as well as hundreds of detasselers.

Memorials can be given towards the Thorson log cabin.
